Korean sizes are the size labels on shoes and clothes in South Korea. A shoe size is the foot length in millimetres, so 250 means a foot that is 250 mm long. Tops use the chest measurement in centimetres, such as 85, 90 and 95, and women's clothes also use the older codes 44, 55 and 66.
Korean Size Converter
Korean Size Converter changes Korean shoe sizes in millimetres to US, UK, EU and Japanese sizes, and Korean clothing sizes such as 55 or 95 to S, M, L and US sizes. It works in the two directions.
Type a size into one box to see the other sizes.
Basis: US men = cm − 18, US women = cm − 17, UK = cm − 19, EU = (mm + 15) × 0.15, Japan = cm. A value between two rows shows the nearest row.
Women's shoe size chart

| 230 | 6 | 4 | 36–37 | 23 |
| 235 | 6.5 | 4.5 | 37–38 | 23.5 |
| 240 | 7 | 5 | 38–39 | 24 |

What are Korean sizes?
How shoe and clothing sizes are set
- One EU shoe size is 2/3 cm (about 6.67 mm), a unit called the Paris point. The EU size is the length of the last, the form that the shoe is made on, in centimetres multiplied by 1.5.
- The last is longer than the foot, so a conversion from foot length adds an allowance. With an allowance of 15 mm, a 250 mm foot gives 26.5 × 1.5 = 39.75, which is between EU 39 and EU 40.
- One US or UK shoe size is 1/3 inch (about 8.47 mm), and a half size is about 4.23 mm. That is a little less than the Korean step of 5 mm. So a chart that matches 5 mm to a half size is an approximation.
- Korean top sizes 85, 90, 95 and 100 are chest measurements in centimetres, and each size is 5 cm larger than the one before. Divide by 2.54 to get inches: 95 is about 37 inches.

Questions about Korean sizes
How do Korean shoe sizes work?
A Korean shoe size is the length of the foot in millimetres. Sizes go up in steps of 5 mm, for example 245, 250 and 255. Japanese sizes use the same length in centimetres, so 250 in Korea is 25 in Japan.
Which rule does the shoe chart use?
The chart uses one rule. US men's size is the foot length in cm minus 18. US women's size is the men's size plus 1. UK size is the length in cm minus 19. EU size is (length in mm + 15) × 0.15. So 250 mm is US men's 7, US women's 8, UK 6 and EU 39–40. Other charts and brands can be half a size different.
Why is the EU size a range?
EU sizes go up in steps of about 6.67 mm, and Korean sizes go up in steps of 5 mm. The two do not line up. When the calculated value is between two EU sizes, this tool shows the two numbers, for example 39–40. The brand's chart tells you which one fits.
What do 44, 55, 66, 77 and 88 mean?
They are traditional Korean sizes for women's clothes. As a reference, 44 is about XS, 55 is about S, 66 is about M, 77 is about L and 88 is about XL. The numbers come from an old size standard and are not measurements in centimetres.
What do 85, 90, 95, 100 and 105 mean?
They are sizes for tops, and the number is the chest measurement in centimetres. As a reference, 85 is about XS, 90 is about S, 95 is about M, 100 is about L, 105 is about XL and 110 is about XXL. Korean clothes are often cut smaller than US clothes with the same letter.
How do I measure my foot length?
Put a sheet of paper on the floor against a wall. Stand on it with your heel against the wall. Mark the end of your longest toe and measure from the edge to the mark with a ruler. Measure in the evening, because feet are larger then. Measure both feet and use the longer one.
Can I order with this result?
